Moderate to Severe TBI / Treatment and Settings of Care / Day Rehabilitation
Transcript

Once a patient with moderate to severe TBI progresses past post-acute care, they may enter day rehabilitation, sometimes called outpatient therapy or outpatient rehabilitation. In this stage, the patient is able to live at home, usually with family members, while they continue rehabilitation during the day. Day rehab often takes place in a structured group setting at an outpatient rehabilitation or therapy center.

In some cases, patients may be able to receive home health services. Rehabilitation therapies can continue within the home as needed and as recommended by the healthcare provider. Most, but not all, hospitals and rehabilitation companies provide home health services.
